Closure order secured on property in Cheshunt |

Hi Resident
A closure order has been secured on a property in #Cheshunt following multiple reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug criminality. The order was granted at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (7 July) following an application by the Broxbourne Community Safety Unit (CSU), with support from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT). It prevents anyone (other than police or maintenance workers) from entering the property in Garland Close for three months following reports of ASB, drug use, noise nuisance and intimidating behaviour, all of which were causing residents to feel unsafe in their own home. The address was also subject to an incident on 6 July when threats were made to set fire to the building and to use offensive weapons against police officers, resulting in a major police attendance, including armed officers. Community Safety Sergeant Clare Ramirez, said: “This closure order is a small step in securing safety for the residents of Garland Close after several months of anti-social behaviour, which recently resulted in a mass police presence at the address. “No person should feel unsafe in their own home, living their daily lives, but sadly in this case they did. I hope that residents in the area can now begin to get on with their lives, knowing that we have taken action, and will continue to do so. “We will use every available tactic to tackle anti-social behaviour and I would continue to urge members of the community to report any behaviour of this nature to the police.” To report anti-social behaviour or concerns, you can: Report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form. In an emergency, call 999.
