Closure order secured on Abbots Avenue West property |

|
A property in Abbots Avenue West, St Albans, has been closed following joint action by Hertfordshire Constabulary and St Albans City and District Council to tackle ongoing drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour.
The full closure order, granted at St Albans Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 8 July), prohibits anyone from entering the address.
The order follows repeated reports from local residents about persistent drug use, disorder and nuisance behaviour linked to the property. Neighbourhood policing teams worked closely with the council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Officers to gather evidence and take action.
PC Ben Kirby said: "No one should have to put up with the anti-social behaviour that is often linked to drugs. We are grateful to residents for letting us know about the problems, which has resulted in this full closure order being secured. We hope this provides some peace to people living nearby."
Carmel Sheringham-Ford, Anti-Social Behaviour Officer at St Albans City and District Council, added: "We work tirelessly to challenge and robustly deal with reports of anti-social behaviour. Where trends emerge, we aim to manage and eradicate them at the earliest opportunity to ensure people can enjoy their home and community."
Please continue to report concerns.
