Dear Resident,
π OFF-ROAD BIKE OPERATION SUCCESS β GRANGE RECREATIONAL GROUND π
On Thursday 14th May, officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol in Grange Recreational Ground when two off-road motorcycles were spotted riding through the park. As soon as the riders saw officers, they rode off towards The Greenway.
With support from other Letchworth Neighbourhood Officers, strategic locations were quickly covered to block possible escape routes. Then came the waiting gameβ¦ π
Positioned next to the Standalone farm entrance, officers deployed specialist UV tagging spray onto two riders who abandoned their bikes and ran off. Two bikes were recovered at the scene.
Later, parents of the riders got the riders to come back to scene to face the consequences of their actions. Under UV light, both suspects were found glowing from the tagging spray β¨ and were subsequently reported to court for traffic offences.
π¨ OP AAORM has now been running across Letchworth & Baldock for a year, resulting in numerous seizures of off-road motorcycles and illegally adapted e-bikes. Tackling this issue remains a key local priority, and we are committed to listening to and addressing the concerns raised by our community.
π’ We continue to encourage residents to report ongoing issues in their areas. By working together, we can make our neighbourhoods safer for everyone.
