|
Eight vehicles have been seized during a successful operation with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in Hatfield. The operation focused on the Bishops Rise area, resulting in: PC Chris Giles, from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “By working closely with the DVLA, we have been able to identify and seize vehicles that should not be on our roads. I hope this operation sends a clear message that untaxed, uninsured and unroadworthy vehicles will be dealt with.” A DVLA spokesperson said: “This joint operation in Hatfield demonstrates how working closely with police partners helps us identify and take action against untaxed vehicles that should not be on the road. “With over 98% of vehicles taxed correctly, DVLA uses enforcement action - including clamping and impounding - against the small minority of drivers who break the law. “Taxing a vehicle is quick and easy through our online services, with the option to spread the cost by Direct Debit.” Join the ‘Herts Connected’ community messaging service to keep up to date with what’s happening in your local area.
