Two arrested in connection with late-night attempted burglary - Leavesden |
||
|
Dear Resident We made a couple of swift arrests after residents in Leavesden called 999 to report suspicious activity in their street. Response officers were dispatched to Dowding Way just after 10.30pm on Friday (30 January) following a report of two men trying to break into garages. One suspect was quickly tracked by a nimble PC from the Three Rivers Response Team 2, who had to scale an eight-foot wall before locating the male behind a garden shed. Canine assistance then arrived in the shape of Police Dog Pumba and his handler from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Dog Unit. Items that were believed to have been stolen were soon recovered. A second male was later stopped by officers on Aerodrome Way, near to the entrance to the Warner Bros Studio site. Following some roadside checks, officers arrested him in connection with the attempted burglaries. Both suspects were transported to custody, and the case was handed to the Case Investigation Team (CIT) for progression before charges were later secured. This incident brought together officers and staff from Response, Joint Protective Services (JPS), the Force Communications Room (FCR) and the Criminal Investigation Team—demonstrating the strength of a coordinated Team Herts approach. Burglary crime prevention advice can be found on the constabulary’s website.
