Two Mercedes seized and a bike returned to its owner in Harpenden and Wheathampstead

Two red Mercedes were seized and a stolen bike was returned to its owner by your Harpenden Neighbourhood Policing Team on Friday (12 September). 

A red Mercedes convertible was seized by PCs Iffy Iqbal, Jem Oliver and PCSO Tom Perrin at 6pm on Lower Luton Road when the male driver was pulled over for having no insurance or MOT.

At 11.45pm, they stopped a second red Mercedes in Marford Road Wheathampstead. The driver, a woman aged in her 20s, was reported for having no insurance, driving other than in accordance with a licence and having no tax.

They will, most likely, be summonsed directly to court. 

At about 9pm, CCTV operators from St Albans City and District Council alerted officers to a teenager stealing a pedal cycle from High Street Harpenden. A 16-year- old boy was detained. The bike has been returned to its teenage owner. He will be coming to the station with an appropriate adult this week.
