Vehicle Interference/Damage

Dear Resident

 

Between 30th 31st July  a vehicle had been interfered with  in Saturn Way 

 

Between event time, Victim has parked his vehicle a Volkswagen Golf outside his home address and has left no valuables inside and all relevant vehicle documents were sealed in an envelope in the car.

When the  Victim has gone out to his car at event to time, he has found his car boot slightly ajar and open and realised that this vehicle has been accessed by an unknown person.

The documentation that victim keeps in his vehicle was also torn out of the envelope and left scattered throughout the car however nothing has been stolen.

Victim is not aware of anyone else possessing his car key and no one else is allowed permission into his vehicle.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

  • Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.
  • Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle
  • When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.
  • Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.
  • Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.
  • Be aware of your keys.  Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken.  Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox. 
  • Register your valuables on www.immobilise.com.
  • Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
  • Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
  •
