Murder detectives appeal for information about distinctive vehicle

Dear Resident

Detectives investigating the murder of Mustapha Jatta are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing a distinctive red and black Ford Fiesta (pictured) in the Watford and Kings Langley area between the end of August last year and 17 September 2024.

The vehicle had one red and one black wing mirror, red detailing on the front and also a red section in the middle of the dashboard.

Mustapha Jatta, aged 30, was shot and killed in Railway Terrace, Kings Langley at around 12.33am on Tuesday 17 September 2024.

Detective Inspector Adam Bridges, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “As part of our active investigation into Mustapha’s murder, fresh information has led us to conduct enquiries into this distinctive vehicle. Do you recognise this car or remember seeing it in the Watford or Kings Langley area? I appreciate some time has passed, but I am hoping the identifiable features on the car may jog someone’s memory. If anyone has any information which may help progress our enquiries, please get in touch.”

You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting Operation Tempo.

The independent charity Crimestoppers are offering a £20,000 reward for information that is passed directly to the charity that leads to the conviction of anyone involved in the murder of Mustapha Jatta. You can stay 100% anonymous by contacting 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
