Speed Checks - Leavesden Area

Dear Resident

Today PCSO Gomm and I conducted Speed checks in and around the Leavesden area today.

Out of the 78 drivers we checked on Aerodrome Way, 15 drivers decided 30 was not fast enough for them.

Just like my previous message, most of these drivers are local residents!

I am currently writing to each driver, and they will be issued with a Section 59 notice.

A Section 59 is a Warning Notice under Section 59(4) Police Reform Act 2002, is a power where if anyone has been witnessed driving in an ASB manner, or Careless or inconsiderate manner contrary to Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, then they would receive this warning, which lasts 1 year on the driver and the vehicle they were driving. If they are caught again driving in a ASB manner or Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, under Section 60 we can seize the vehicle.

We will continue to provide you with updates regarding this and any other issues you raise in the local priority survey.

The feedback you provide influences the priorities we focus on and enables updates you receive to be more relevant.
