Update from your Hemel Hempstead Policing team

Dear Resident

It's been a busy week of community engagement for the #HemelHempstead and #KingsLangley Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT). Here are just some of the things they've been up to:

A knife arch operation was carried out at West Herts College to help educate young people on the dangers of carrying knives.

PCs Beresford and Miles attended The Collett School for a career’s day. They spoke to several students and teachers about what it’s like to be a police officer and the various roles within the force. Everyone was really welcoming and hopefully the visit has inspired some new recruits.

PCSOs met with Cllr Angela Mitchell to discuss ongoing issues affecting people in the Gadebridge area and potential options for improvement.

PCSO Murray assisted the #HemelHempstead Community Fridge volunteers at the weekend, giving him an opportunity to share information and advice as he handed out pastries to residents.

The team were out conducting speed checks in #KingsLangley over the weekend. Whilst most people were adhering to the limit, one driver can expect a letter in the post soon! Their work also attracted the attention of a passing princess, who was keen to help catch any pesky speeders.

Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT) play a vital role in offering a reassuring presence to the public, helping to fight crime and anti-social behaviour, and forge stronger relationships with the communities they serve. They carry out regular patrols and host public engagement events.

Alongside the NPT, #Dacorum is also policed by Intervention officers who respond to emergency calls, the Local Crime Unit which investigates the more serious crimes such as burglary, robbery and assault, and specialist units who work to tackle issues such as acquisitive crime and domestic abuse.
