Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear resident

Between 08/06/2025 04:50 05:15 a theft of a vehicle occurred in South Road, Chorleywood

The reporting person has said the car was left locked and secured on the victims drive way, with a steering wheel lock, however access was still gained unfortunately, the offender(s) left in an unknown direction

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
