Theft of two Motor Vehicles - Furzefield area

Dear Resident

Two motor vehicles have been stolen from within the Furzefield Ward.

 

1. Crime reference number - 41/40665/25

Between 7pm Saturday 3rd May and 8.45am Sunday 4th May, a black Ford Focus was parked on the service road at the rear of Cranborne Parade, when the theft of the vehicle occurred by unknown means.

 

2. Crime reference number  - 41/40931/25

On Monday 5th May, between  2.15am and 6.45am a blue Porsche Macan was stolen from the driveway of an address on Deepdene.

 

Please check video doorbell and CCTV footage for any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area around the above times.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

  • Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.
  • Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle
  • When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.
  • Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.
  • Be aware of your keys.  Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox. 
  • If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag.

  • Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

     

    • Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activities in the area.
