The constabulary’s annual summer work experience programme is not taking place this year (2025) and what we can offer to young people going forward is being reviewed.

Due to the nature of policing, we are unable to facilitate individual requests for work experience. However, if your child is interested in a career in policing they may wish to join our police cadets, which is open to all those aged between 13 and 18. We are however recruiting for a number of police staff roles including communications operators (Call Handlers) in our Force Control Room (FCR).
