Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

At approximately at 19:49 on Sunday 23rd March 2025 a theft of a motor vehicle occurred in Charmouth Road, St Albans

Suspect is seen walking up to the vehicle with an item in hand, enters the vehicle and is then seen driving away in the vehicle. Vehicle has later been recovered in another location within St Albans.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
