Burglary to an unconnected building - Grange Gardens Bishops stortford


Dear Resident

Between 05th January 2025 and 6th January 2025  X2 burglaries to unconnected buildings and X1 attempted Burglary to an unconnected building have taken place in Grange Gardens Bishops Stortford

Offender(s) have gained access to Sheds located at 3 different premises in Grange Gardens Bishops Stortford,  at one premises nothing has been taken and the two other  premises their sheds have been opened by unknown means and there has been X7 stolen bicycles.

Please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number 41/1512/25, 41/1635/25 and 41/1443/25 if you or your neighbours have any information relating to this crime. Alternatively, you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area.

Tips to prevent burglary:

  • Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. 

  • Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home.

  • Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place.

  • Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features.

  • Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera or a monitored burglar alarm. 

  • Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. 

  • Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home.
